Japan Travelogue: (30th, 31st of December and 1st of January) Laundry, Moving and...

wait for it...

Are you ready?

KINKI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!     \^o^/

Hi, minnaaaaaaaa!!!!!!

Oh, it's been such a long time since I posted. @_@  Well, the odds weren't so good, I'm afraid. At our hotel in Tokyo the net limitation was 10 minutes and the keyboard kept switching back to kana on its own accord. Here in Osaka we don't have in internet access at the hotel at all, so... it's been a bit difficult. But now I'm here to report on our newer adventures. ^^

First off, the 30th of December. That wasn't a very eventful day. Well... it was kind of the "washing day". XD We spent hours taking our laundry through Kyoto to a coin laundry, wash and dry it there and then take it back again. @_@ But the laundry service in the hotel was ridiculous. 300 Yen for 1 shirt - that was half a filling at the coin laundry. Well, anyway, we finished our laundry, then I had to wash my hair, then we had to pack... and so the day went by basically. Well... in the evening B.A. started teasing me with stuff like "hey, do you realise that tomorrow is the first concert?" and I would squeal every single time. ^^" I didn't sleep well that night, which was bad because we had to move back to Tokyo quite early. Well, in the end it was okay, of course. ^^

Okay, so here it comes. The 31st of December, Tokyo, Tokyo Dome. We arrived in Tokyo only around noon, so I almost had to rush to the concert scene to get goods. Greetings to zombiezahn andmonstakarotte . Got all your stuff. ^^ Oh, and it was such a good thing I got everything on the 31st, because on the 1st people were like storming the merchandise area. But I'll get to that later. I got so excited, just watching the Tokyo Dome from the outside. Poor B.A. had to watch me jump and fiddle around nervously and listen to spontaneous fangirl outbursts. XD

Tokyo Dome... OMG!!!!! O_O (I still can't believe I was actually there ^^)

I met maharan1, nextshot andtokie_chan around 4pm in front of the Dome. Ah, it's so cool to meet people you're been talking to on the net in RL. ^^ So then, we got in. I was totally surprised that it didn't even take 10 minutes to get in. The gates are incredibly well-organised. Really cool. After having a first look around, the first thing that I did was to drop my ticket into a paper basket along with some trash I wanted to get rid off. Poor Ran had to get me someone from the staff so I could retrieve it. I apologize for being such a bother. Well, once I had my ticket back, I checked out the seats together with nextshot.

When I saw the seats I was like WAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were sitting practically next to the side stage way on the left side. It gave a more difficult view to the central stage, but it was still okay and whoever happened to come by was only like 5-7 metres away. Details on that later. ^^ Well, once I knew where I should be when the concert started, I thought I should go to the toilet. That... was not the best idea I ever had. But then, I had to go and absolutely did NOT want to go during the concert. But really, the efficiency of the entry was totally belied by the way the toilet organisation ran. Like, half the restrooms weren't even open. And in front of the ones in use the lines had gotten so long, I got redirected to the next restroom 3 times. @_@ When I was finally already in the arena area, I could finally line up and the line was endless! I really thought I wouldn't make it anymore. But some time half way through the line, I think, they realised that they had a bigger problem and opened some more restrooms. Well... after that it only took 2 more minutes. It was just a bit bothersome that the restroom I finally went into was the first one I had passed on my way. >_<

Well, let's forget all of that, but let's remember that if you watch a concert in Tokyo Dome, you want to go to the toilet in one of the close-by malls at least 30 minutes earlier to avoid such trouble. I got back to my seat precisely when the lights went out. And then... well... KinKi appeared. Just like that, out of nowhere, they were suddenly there. Doesn't sound that spectacular, ne? ^^ But really... it was a fantastic moment. I know I squealed. Like, really. I mean... OMG!!!!!! They were really there! And I could see them. Not on screen, or on the internet, but as actual persons. WAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! It was SO cool. They passed by through the mid-way, so we didn't get to see them close up just yet. But I think we got so lucky. They were both doing well, it was not the recording day and everything just seemed in perfect synch and we got a full live concert. And that is definitely something. I was totally amazed at Koichi's voice. Somehow it seemed so much more powerful than it sounds to me on the dvd recordings. Well, the singing was totally amazing. the band, naturally, was great too. Altogether it was fantastic.

The MC was definitely cool. From what little I understood Koichi talked about cars and tires. Ran later explained to met that he had explained that tires are really the most important part of a car. Like, even if you have the frame, the engine, a wheel and everything, without tires, you cannot really move a car, can you? Even without gas you can still roll it - so long as you have tires on it. So, that is what Koichi explained. There was, of course, much more talk, but I always have to concentrate so hard to understand even bits, I easily forget what they talked about 5 minutes before. ^^" Even so, it was cool, just watching them interact.

Oh, almost forgot. The most interesting part.
*fangirl mode on*
WAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOGM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Koichi passed by a mere few metres away and when he turned and looked into our direction.... WAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG, he is SO HANDSOME!!!!!!!! *faints*

Tsuyoshi came by on a car later and got equally close. KYAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!! *faints again* WAH, that was SOOOOOOOOO cool!!!!!!

I was totally happy that we also got to see MA and MAD passing by. Aw, I got to see Macchin and Yone!!!!!! <3 So happy! ^_^
*fangirl mode on standby*

Okay, all in all the concert on the 31st was really cool, because I could see everybody close up and it was a bit more moderate than the one on the 1st. Generally it felt more intimate, just that in the end there was already a little bit of a rush, because they had to switch the audience from KinKi to Countdown. Man, there were so many people out there when we left. @_@ In the end we lost tokie_chan somewhere. (I really hope you got back to Narita alright.) Nextshot left us a few minutes alter. Ran and I had a coffee together and then made our ways back home. Once back at the hotel I didn't do much anymore. B.A. went out to see some temple action. ^^ But I was tired, so I stayed in and jut watched the countdown. Or rather, what's left of it. I mean, really... They send everybody to god knows where, only a few groups are left in Tokyo Dome anyway. I mean, the event itself cannot be that spectacular with so little rehearsing. The thing that made it entertaining was the group interaction, which you barely get these days, because Kanjani8 is in Osaka, Takki in the Imperial Garden theatre, SMAP... had some weird live act (sorry, but I really don't see why Johnny says he can't have them at the countdown, because the run on the tickets would be too huge and then he lets them perform in front of like 100 people) and Arashi... if I remember correctly they were on an NHK show. I didn't see Toma at all, which really made me mad. I think it would be great to see everybody together. Well, that's just my thoughts on it.

What B.A. did while I was at the concert

Okay, next... The concert on the 1st of January. That's pretty much all I can report about on that day, because Japan is basically closed during New Year celebrations. Like, really. You can't even get money from an automat. @_@  Well, B.A. and I spent the day wandering around a bit and eating, eating, eating. We eat a lot, generally. ^^  Well, wherever you go there are hundreds of restaurants and at least at every 10th you'll get stuck. ^^ When we got to the Dome, I could see the difference between the concert on the 31st and the concert on the 1st of January. WOAH, so many people!!!!!!!! Incredible. I was so happy I had gone to the toilet before going in there. XDDDDD

Ah, I have to admit, I was a bit worried about B.A. I was even more happy to see that he did have fun. Our seats were WAAAYYYYYY up in the upmost gallery. Not a chance to make out anybody in particular on stage. But the view over the area was totally amazing! We had a fantastic view to the central stage and we could see the heart-shape of the entire stage area. That was really cool. And: Now I finally understand why the costumes tend to be so overly flashy. If they weren't you wouldn't even see someone is on stage. XD Like really, all that glittery and what not stuff really helps you to follow the people on stage.

I think I've read in another report that "recording day tends to be more flashy". I'll agree with that. More lights, more laser show, more explosions. Well... it's flashy. XD Oh and it was notably louder, which wasn't exactly good for my damaged ear, but luckily B.A. had brought ear plugs that he let me use. ^^ I could still hear everything absolutely clearly. ^^"

Okay, there's already a very detailed report of the entire concert on domotokyoudai community, so you can check it out there. I could never write in such detail. My personal impressions were first that Koichi was absolutely adorable and secondly, that they definitely had a lot of fun during the birthday MC. They didn't really bring anything new, though. Well, the obligatory "how many strawberries can Koichi eat at a time" is a must. Then Koichi got a present he wasn't allowed to reveal to the audience and then they showed pictures of Koichi, which had been drawn by MA and MAD. So, basically it was a mix of Phi and You. Personally, I liked the idea for the J concert better. Haha, but it was still nice to see all the interpretations of the same pic of Koichi. All in all I think the concert lasted about 4 hours. The birthday MC was REALLY long. My legs went numb from sitting so long. Not that I want to complain. I enjoyed every second of it. AND: We got a second encore. YAY!!!!!! \^o^/

In retrospective, I think it's totally amazing that we were there. It was a totally cool experience, which I would like to have again some time. I will definitely be back for more. Maybe Koichi solo, maybe Kanjani, maybe KinKi again, I'm not sure about that just yet. But I definitely want to go again.

Something that really amazed me was that the fans are really completely calm and silent. The only action going on is the swaying of the penlights, which is beautiful to watch, but sometimes you'd just like to move to the music, or sing along. There is no such thing. Well, it was still really amazing. ^^

After the concert Ran invited me out to some Karaoke with some other friends. My first time real Karaoke ever. Only singing KinKi songs. ^^" I really had a blast. That was the perfect finish for that day. And now was the perfect finish for that day. And now I think I finish for that day. And now I think I'm done for that day. And now I think I'm done with this report. It feels like it would need much more detail, but my brain is already slow, so I'll stop here.

Greetings to everyone! ^_^/

Haha, doing laundry out of your house is so bothersome! @_@ B.A. and I already filled a 10kg laundry machine. ^^

Aw, thanks a lot! <3 I miss posting too. I mean, the fiction. I've written down like a dozen ideas and I want to write all that stuff so bad. Well, of course, I have lots of new stuff for my LE series now as well. ^^
